I’m a coach, wife, and empty-nest mum with two furbabies to fill the gaps
And my mission is to help you create a life of joy and fulfillment
Let’s rewind to August 2020.
I’m living in my dream home in the country that I built with the love of my life.
I’ve taken the year off my day job as an Assistant Principal in a high school in order to work on my business.
From the outside, it looks like I have it all together.
But on the inside, it’s a struggle.
After eight months, my business has not grown. Every morning, I check my daily revenue with hope, only to feel disappointment – I’m not earning any more than when I did it as a side hustle.
And with every passing day, my return to education becomes more and more inevitable.
My husband Ben hates teaching. It’s his fifth year in the job and it’s no easier than when he started. In fact, it’s worse. And when I look at him with his 12 plus hour days, and working half of every weekend, there’s a tightness in my chest because my business success was meant to get him out of teaching too.
I’ve failed us both.
I’m also missing my connection to people. It’s five years we’ve lived in this area and it’s five years of isolation. I can count on one hand the number of visitors we’ve had to our home who aren’t family.
And let’s not even start talking about money.
I feel stuck.
I feel trapped.
I’m working on an assignment for the Diploma in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing I’m taking. And it hits me.
I have a lot of purpose and meaning in my life, but I have no happiness.
I don’t feel pleasure in the moment. I don’t feel good. I don’t feel satisfied.
And that’s when I realize that none of these things I’m striving for will make up for the lack of joy in my life right now.
That day in August 2020 was a catalyst.
Over the next few years, our lives transformed as I took action based on what I’d learned from positive psychology to create a better life for myself.
- Ben and I farewelled our jobs in high schools and took on government roles.
- We took a hit salary-wise yet received significant sums of money from unexpected sources.
- We sold our house and moved to a community surrounded by the sea and native bush – yet was only 20 minutes from the city by ferry.
- We also bought an RV which opened up our world in ways I hadn’t thought possible.
Once I got past my teaching burnout, I trained to be a coach with the Life Purpose Institute, which I would discover was my passion.
Through there and the coaching I received, I realized how much my limiting beliefs were keeping me stuck in the same old patterns and I worked to dispel these.
Looking back, even though it had not come with the bang of some of my other life-changing events, that day had been a turning point.
I learned the importance of my day-to-day happiness.
I learned the journey was as important as the destination.
I learned that those very feelings of being disappointed and stuck and trapped were in fact stopping me getting what I wanted.
Ultimately, I learned how to lean into to what felt right, to take the action even when it was scary, and to trust that it would all work out for my highest good.
Now, I’m filled with a sense that I’m exactly where I need to be, doing what I was put here to do. There’s still work to be done, but as Ben would say, we’re “much improved.”
If you’re reading this, maybe there’s something in you that connects to my story.
A need to feel more, do more, be more.
A need to live in alignment with your values and strengths, to have a clearly defined sense of purpose and meaning, to create and achieve goals that light you up all the while strengthening your relationships with others.
A need to feel joy.

My background
Receiving quality coaching is both an act of self care and a tool for personal growth that’s hard to beat and I’m honored to provide this for people.
To provide a high standard of coaching, I gained my certification with the ICF accredited Life Purpose Institute which has been training coaches since 1984. I chose them as my philosophy – to empower women to create lives of joy and fulfillment – is closely aligned with their mission to help clients transform from the inside out, discover their deeper purpose, and create a life of true meaning.
At the core of my practice is the belief that everything you need is already inside you – though you may need some help to dig it out! Through the use of powerful questioning and other tools, you will come to know who you are, what you want and why you’re here, so that you can have a life of joy and fulfillment.
Together we will then ensure you can turn this vision into reality through moving through the limiting beliefs keeping you stuck and developing practical action plans.
In addition, I hold a Diploma in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing, which has been the most impactful study of my life – and I collect qualifications like some people do doilies (see below if you’re really interested). My programs and processes are subsequently based on principles of positive psychology, coupled with researched-backed tools and resources from Positive Psychology.
I demonstrate my commitment to positive psychology and coaching by being a member of The New Zealand Association of Positive Psychology, the International Positive Psychology Association, and The International Coaching Federation (where I am currently a Branch volunteer for the New Zealand Aotearoa Branch).
I also have a BA (Hons) in Social Anthropology, a Graduate Diploma in Arts (English), a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary), and a Masters in Educational Administration and Leadership with Distinction.
